Empathy, trust, safety, are the pillars upon which Sairee Chahal founded SHEROES, the women’s community platform, and the world’s fastest evolving women-only social network.
Accessible via Sheroes.com and the SHEROES app, the platform is a game-changer for Indian women, addressing the problem of gender parity in an engaging and immersive way. A million women have benefited directly, and in the next five years, Sairee aims to put 100 million women on the growth map through this socially transformative product.
Sairee is also the convener of the SHEROES Summit – India’s largest women’s forum, which brings together leaders and SHEROES community members in the same space to nurture important conversations around women’s progress and the future of work. Through her thought-provoking talks, Sairee has evangelised and challenged existing ideas around women’s aspirations, and identities, and she is regularly invited to engage with various stakeholders in important gender and entrepreneurship conversations around the world.
A tech entrepreneur at heart, Sairee’s professional journey began while she was still in college, before co-founding her first startup, Newslink, the world’s first newspaper for mariners. She went on to work at corporates like Heidrick and Struggles and CII. She has an M.Phil from JNU and a PGDBM from IMT Ghaziabad, and as an Aspen Leadership Fellow, her journey of learning, redefining and disrupting the status quo around the women’s narrative, continues.
