Dr. Kedar Kulkarni obtained his B.Tech / M.Tech from IIT-Bombay, India, and PhD from the University of Illinois, USA (in 2007). He has over 15 years of experience in the areas of mathematical modeling, optimization, and machine learning. He has 40+ international publications, including 18 patents and 1 book to his credit.

Over the years, Kedar has had the opportunity to contribute to diverse business verticals such as the chemical process industry, renewable energy, IT operational analytics, enterprise asset management, retail supply chains, enterprise environmental performance, to name a few. In particular, he has defined and led the technical agenda for several research teams and driven them to business impact in reputed organizations such as GE Global Research, ABB Corporate Research in the past.

He also continues to engage with the academia through active mentoring of PhD students (2 from IIT-Hyderabad and 1 from IIT-Bombay). He has refereed many international journals/conferences of repute and has been invited for lectures/talks at various educational / research institutions / fora.

Until recently, he was a senior researcher, manager and global research lead at IBM Research where he led a team of researchers / software engineers across India, Africa and the US focusing on sustainability and climate-resilience of supply chains.

Currently at the Jio AI Center of Excellence, he leads the charter for AI in New Energy, Sustainability
and Climate Change.
