Dr. Janki Santoke (B. Com, M.A., Ph. D.)
Jankiji finished her graduation in Commerce majoring in Management in 1988 from Bombay University. She then joined Vedanta Academy, an international educational institution near Mumbai, for a three year residential course on Vedanta under the guidance of eminent philosopher and spiritual guide Swami Parthasarathy. Strict discipline along with deep philosophical insights are the highlights of this course.
After the course she continued to work and research at the Academy for another 5 years.
She was then re-located to Delhi where she became the founder trustee of the Vedanta Institute Delhi. In Delhi her service to society took mainly the following forms:
1. Bhagavad Gita classes: She took regular weekly classes on the Gita and Vedanta at India Habitat Centre, Essex farms etc. These were extremely well-attended and appreciated.
2. Corporate training programmes: She has conducted management training in various organizations like GlaxoSmithkline, Ranbaxy, Gillette, Indian Oil Corp, BPCL etc.
3. Organised lectures by Swami Parthasarathy in prestigious venues like Sirifort auditorium as well as Gita discourses at FICCI etc.
4. Writings: She has written for many magazines and newspapers on Vedanta and its practical application. Prominent among them are Times of India (Speaking Tree), Hindustan Times, Economic Times etc.
5. She has addressed many educational institutes like Shriram college, Lady Shriram, Delhi Public School etc; service organisations like Rotary etc and international organizations like Young Presidents Organisation, INDUS etc.
At Rishikesh, she was the resident Vedanta teacher at AnandaSpa, an internationally acclaimed spa.
In Kolkata, besides lectures on Vedanta and Gita, she has also conducted seminars for Heritage School of Management and Tata Group.
She currently lives in Bombay and continues these avenues of service. She has done her post-graduation in English. She has a doctorate in Vedanta from Mumbai University. She has also read her paper at the international conference under the aegis of the Afro-Asian Philosophy Congress
She is currently writing a book on thinking and knowledge. The book investigates how we know things and what are valid ways of knowing.
